Steelcase Coalesse Used Enea Lottus Armless Stool, Blue and Light Gray
Enea Lottus is a Coalesse collection designed by Lievore Altherr Molina, the Barcelona studio, and produced with the Spanish manufacturer Enea. The shape came out of an interest in a single continuous surface: the seat and back are formed from one piece of molded polypropylene that curves up and around with no visible joint. That simplicity is why the Lottus works as well in a cafe or a lobby as it does in a meeting space, and Coalesse has sold it into break rooms, cafes, touchdown areas, training rooms and hospitality settings.
This pre-owned Enea Lottus is the armless bar height stool, with a blue molded polypropylene shell, a light gray vinyl upholstered seat pad and a gray powder coated steel rod base with an integrated foot rest. The seat sits at 30.5 inches, which places it at bar height, so it pairs with standing height counters, bar height cafe tables and tall collaboration surfaces. The base is a four leg sled style frame with a wide welded footrest ring.
The shell is what makes this a stool people actually stay in. The molded polypropylene flexes slightly under load and the back has real curvature to it, so it supports the lower back rather than acting as a decorative backstop the way most bar stools do. The vinyl seat pad adds cushioning and wipes clean with a cloth, which matters in a break room or cafe where food and drink are in play. Coalesse specifies the polypropylene shell for both indoor and covered outdoor use, and the shell resists staining and cleans easily.
