Muuto Cover Used Wooden Armchair, Oak
The Cover chair is Thomas Bentzen’s design for Muuto, and it is built around a piece of joinery rather than a shape. The arm and back panels are folded around the frame so that the wood itself locks the chair together, which is why there is no metal hardware anywhere in the piece. Bentzen has described the series as an attempt to bring the craft of classic Danish cabinetmaking into a chair that can still be produced at scale, and the result reads as quiet and traditional from a distance and quite technical up close.
This pre-owned Cover Armchair is finished in oak throughout. The back panel wraps in a continuous curve from one armrest around to the other, and where it meets the front uprights it folds over and caps them, so the ends of the arms are covered rather than cut off. The seat is a shaped solid panel set into the frame with a gentle dish and a rounded front edge, and the legs are square in section and taper very slightly toward the floor.
It is a genuinely comfortable chair for something built entirely from wood. The curved back sits at the right height to catch the lower shoulder blades, the arms are low enough to slide under a table, and the shaped seat keeps the sitter from sliding forward. Finished in a clear water based lacquer that leaves the oak grain visible, the Cover works as a dining chair, a conference chair, a reception seat or a desk chair in a private office.

Very good condition: We purchased this chair as part of a liquidation, and it arrived at our warehouse new in the manufacturer’s box. We are selling it as used. It is inspected by our quality control team and cleaned as needed before it ships. Expect a clean, sound chair with a damage free frame and, at most, very slight handling marks.
