KI Strive Used Nesting Chair, Gray and Black
KI has been building furniture for schools, universities, hospitals and offices out of Green Bay, Wisconsin since 1941, and the Strive family is one of its most heavily specified lines. Strive was designed for rooms that change shape: training spaces, classrooms, multipurpose rooms, conference areas and anywhere a group meets one week and a different group meets the next. The nesting version is the one that solves the storage problem, because the seat folds up and the chairs roll together into a fraction of the floor space they occupy in use.
This pre-owned unit has a light gray moulded poly back with a run of horizontal flex slots across the lumbar area, gray fixed T arms, and a gray tubular steel frame on dual wheel casters. The seat has been freshly reupholstered in a new black fabric, so while the frame and shell are pre-owned, the surface you actually sit on is brand new and unmarked. The contrast between the pale gray shell and the black seat is a clean, current look that suits both corporate and education settings.
The flex slots in the back are the detail that makes Strive comfortable well beyond what a hard shell chair usually manages. They let the backrest give as you shift your weight, so the chair moves with you instead of holding you at one fixed angle, without any mechanism to maintain. The fixed T arms support your forearms and give you a push off point when standing.
