Keilhauer Juxta Used Low Back Chair, Brown
Juxta is Keilhauer’s collaborative seating collection, designed by the Austrian studio EOOS. The idea behind it came from watching how meetings really run: people swivel toward whoever is speaking, small groups form and reform, and a chair locked in one orientation slows all of that down. Keilhauer’s response was a rounded tub shell on a swivel base, so the sitter turns toward a screen, a whiteboard or a colleague without getting up. The line is a common sight in reception areas, breakout rooms, training spaces, libraries and open collaboration zones.
This pre-owned Juxta is the low back model with arms on a five star polished aluminum base with casters, upholstered in a rich brown fabric. The shell forms one continuous curve from the seat up into integrated arms, with a separate round cushion dropped into the seat. This version carries no tablet, which gives it a clean unbroken silhouette.
Brown is an unusual choice in contract seating and it reads warmer than the grays and blacks that dominate most offices, which makes this a good fit for a lobby or library setting where the furniture should feel less institutional. The low backrest supports the lumbar and mid back while keeping sightlines open across a room. Keilhauer manufactures the Juxta in Toronto, and the collection holds GREENGUARD certification for low chemical emissions along with a level 2 certification under the BIFMA e3 furniture sustainability standard. The seat pan carries a gentle forward angle and the back is pitched well back rather than upright.
