Teknion has built office furniture out of Toronto since 1981, and its seating has a recognizable character: restrained shapes, honest materials and mechanisms that keep working long after the original install. This mesh back task chair is a straightforward example of that approach, the kind of chair a company buys by the hundred for an open plan floor and then forgets about because it simply keeps doing its job. It suits workstations and private offices, technical and engineering teams, universities, government offices, call centers and home desks.
This pre-owned chair is black throughout. A black mesh panel is tensioned inside a molded black back frame with a sculpted top rail that forms an integrated grab handle, so the chair can be picked up and moved by the frame. The seat is a padded black fabric cushion with a contoured front edge, carried on a black mechanism housing over a black five star caster base. The arms are height adjustable with pads that pivot to angle in or out.
The mesh back is the functional core of the chair. Tensioned across an open frame, it supports the back while letting air move through, which makes a real difference over a full day in a warm office, and the curved frame profile sets the lumbar shape across the mesh. Underneath the seat, height adjustment, a recline lock, tilt tension and seat depth adjustment cover the setup most sitters need. Overall height ranges from 40.25 to 44.25 inches across the seat height travel.
