Teknion has been building contract office furniture out of Toronto since 1983, and this combination tower solves two storage problems in one footprint. The upper half is a two door cabinet with shelves behind it, sized for binders, supplies, printer stock and the things that do not belong in a file drawer. The lower half is a bank of three full depth lateral file drawers. The whole storage program lands in a single steel case on a single footprint of floor.
This pre-owned Teknion is finished in gray throughout. The upper cabinet has two hinged doors on concealed hinges opening to two interior shelves, one of them adjustable on the punched shelf standards that run up both sides of the compartment. The three lower drawers file letter and legal documents side to side across the full width, carry integrated pull rails formed into each drawer face, and have card label holders at the left of every drawer. The upper cabinet and the drawer bank each have their own lock, so the two halves can be secured independently.
That separate locking is worth more than it sounds. It lets one person keep the supply cabinet open to a team while the file drawers underneath stay locked, which is exactly what an office manager or an HR department needs from a shared storage tower. The full height case also lands the top surface at a comfortable standing working height for staging paperwork.
