Description
Steelcase Used L-shaped Sit Stand Desk w Computer Corner and Left Return, Off White
Most people who want to work standing up end up with a converter, one of those spring-loaded trays that lifts a monitor and a keyboard off an existing desk and leaves everything else where it was. It works, but the writing space, the phone, the notepad and the second monitor all stay at seated height, so the standing position is never quite a real working position. A Steelcase L-shaped standing desk with a computer corner takes the opposite approach: the entire worksurface goes up, and on this configuration that means eleven linear feet of desk moves with you.
This pre-owned unit is the left return version. The main run is 24 inches deep by 80 inches wide, the return is 24 inches deep by 60 inches wide, and the inside corner is scooped into a concave computer corner that lets a single seated position cover both wings. The worksurface is an off white high-pressure laminate with a fine speckled pattern and a soft rolled edge, over a black three-leg steel base with a crossbeam running between the legs. The control keypad mounts under the front edge and carries up and down arrows alongside three numbered memory positions and a set button. The desk travels between 24.5 inches and 51.5 inches.
Series 7 was developed by Details, a Steelcase company, and the mechanism is the reason this configuration is possible at all. Three-stage synchronized lifting columns with integral shrouding are driven together from a central control box, so the three legs stay in step and the corner does not rack under an uneven load. Travel runs at 1.7 inches per second, the soft-stop motor ramps movement at both ends so nothing slides off the surface, and the desk parks anywhere in the range instead of at fixed increments. The three-leg configuration is rated for 540 pounds of distributed load including the worksurface, so a full monitor arm setup, a docking station and reference material are not a concern.
Features:
- Entire Worksurface Rises: Both wings and the corner go to standing height, not just a monitor tray.
- Steelcase Series 7 Platform: Electric height-adjustable table engineered by Details, a Steelcase company.
- Left Return Configuration: The 60 inch return extends from the left side of the main run.
- Concave Computer Corner: Scooped inside corner brings both wings within reach from one seated position.
- 24.5 to 51.5 Inch Range: Twenty-seven inches of travel with infinite positioning.
- Three-Stage Synchronized Columns: Shrouded columns run from a central control box so the corner stays level.
- Three Memory Presets: Numbered buttons store and recall preferred sitting and standing heights.
- 1.7 Inches Per Second: A full sit-to-stand change in seconds rather than a slow crawl.
- Soft-Stop Motor: Ramped acceleration keeps items on the surface from shifting.
- 540 Pound Distributed Load: Three-leg rating that includes the weight of the worksurface.
- Off White Laminate Worksurface: Speckled high-pressure laminate over a 45 pound particle board core.
- Leveling Glides: Base glides adjust 25/32 of an inch to square the desk on an uneven floor.
Color: Off white top with a black base
