Riviera Ottoman by goSIT in Faux Leather, Blue
The Riviera ottoman by goSIT is the companion piece to the Riviera high back lounge chair, and it is built to the same standard rather than treated as an afterthought. goSIT carries a stainless steel frame inside the upholstered form and fills it with high density polyurethane foam rated at 70 density, which is the same foam specification used in the chair. That is what keeps an ottoman from going soft in the middle after a year of feet on it. Riviera ottomans belong in executive offices, private waiting areas, reception lounges, focus rooms, hotel style lobbies and any corner of a corporate floor plan meant to feel less like a workplace.
This new Riviera ottoman is upholstered in the same deep blue EPU faux leather as the chair, a soft slate leaning navy with a fine leather grain and a matte finish. The top is a generously crowned cushion, wider than it is deep, with a single seam running around the perimeter where the top surface meets the side band. The form is a soft rounded rectangle that tapers slightly toward the base, so it reads light despite the padding. Underneath it sits on a polished aluminum four star base with a short chrome column, matching the chair exactly.
At roughly 22 pounds the ottoman is light enough to move with one hand and heavy enough to stay put when someone rests their weight on it. The swivel base means the top turns to whatever angle the sitter wants, which matters more than it sounds when the ottoman is shared between two chairs or approached from the side. The height sits just under the chair seat, which is the correct relationship for leg support. Used on its own, it works as a perch in a lobby or a low side surface next to a lounge chair. The EPU surface wipes clean with a damp cloth, so it holds up in a room where shoes land on it. The matching Riviera lounge chair is available separately.
