Monterey by goSIT Faux Leather Lounge Three Seater, Camel
The Monterey lounge three seater by goSIT belongs to a low profile lounge collection built on a strict rectangular geometry, the kind of clean edged upholstered seating that suits a modern lobby without dominating it. goSIT builds the three seater over an imported pinewood inner frame, the traditional way to build lounge seating, and fills it with layered high density sponge in 40 and 35 density so the seat is firm underneath and softer where the body meets it. The whole piece floats on slim carbon steel plated legs. Monterey belongs in reception areas, executive waiting rooms, collaboration lounges, hotel style lobbies, private offices and softer corners of an open floor plan.
This new Monterey three seater is upholstered in camel EPU faux leather, a warm mid brown tan with a fine leather grain and a soft matte finish that reads far more expensive than it is. The form is essentially a shallow open box. A low back panel and two arm panels of equal height rise from the seat platform at right angles, with crisp vertical seams marking every corner and a single welt line tracing the top edge all the way around. On the three seater the seat cushion runs the full width uninterrupted, with two seams marking the three seating positions so the sofa still reads as one continuous form. The seat is a plain cushion with one horizontal seam across the front face and no buttoning or channeling, which is what keeps the geometry so clean.
The proportions are what make Monterey work in a real room. At roughly 27 inches high overall the whole piece sits below eye level, so a reception area furnished with it stays visually open across the top and a receptionist keeps a clear line to the door. The arms are the same height as the back, which means the three seater looks finished from every angle and can be placed in the middle of a floor rather than pushed against a wall. The slim plated steel legs lift the body a few inches off the floor, which makes the room feel larger and makes cleaning underneath straightforward. The EPU surface wipes clean with a damp cloth, an ordinary requirement in a public facing space.
