Kimball has built furniture in Jasper, Indiana since 1950 and manufactures its contract office lines in the United States. A flip top training table is the piece that lets one room do several jobs. Set out in rows it is a classroom, turned to face each other it is a workshop, and when the session ends the tops flip vertical and the tables nest into each other so a whole room’s worth stores against a wall in a few feet of floor.
This pre-owned table measures 24 inches deep by 60 inches wide by 29 inches high. The top is oak laminate with a squared edge on a gray steel base with T legs and locking casters at all four corners. A frosted modesty panel spans the full width beneath the top, screening the seated user from the row in front. Release levers under the front edge of the top drop the panel and let the surface swing to vertical in one motion, no tools and no second person.
Twenty four inches deep is the training table standard for a reason. It gives a laptop, a notebook and a coffee without pushing the person in front of you out of your sightline, and it keeps rows close enough that a presenter is audible from the back. The locking casters are the detail that decides whether a room actually gets reconfigured: unlock and the table rolls where it is needed, lock and it stays put through a two hour session. Oak laminate is warmer than the usual gray training room finish and holds up to the daily handling these tables get.
