Izzy Used Stack Chair w Sled Base, White and Green
izzy+ builds this stack chair around a single molded polypropylene shell carried on a continuous bent wire sled base. The Michigan manufacturer has focused on multipurpose and education seating since the late 1990s, and this chair shows the priorities that come out of that work: a shell light enough to move a room of them one handed, a base with no exposed hardware to catch on, and a form that stacks tightly at the end of the day. Chairs like this go into training rooms, classrooms, cafeterias, community rooms, conference spaces and flexible meeting areas.
This pre-owned example has a white polypropylene shell with a green upholstered seat pad set into the seat pan, white capped arms on metal supports, and a metal wire sled base. The shell carries two molded cutouts, a handle slot across the top of the back for carrying and a second opening at the waist where the back meets the seat. The seat pad adds a padded contact surface while the rest of the chair stays wipeable molded plastic.
The sled base is what makes this chair work in a high traffic room. The continuous bent rod runners spread the load across the floor and let the chair slide smoothly when someone shifts, and the chair stacks vertically so a full room stores in a small footprint. The arms are capped in the same white as the shell, so the whole chair reads as one piece from across the room.
