The Herman Miller Mirra is a landmark ergonomic chair from Studio 7.5, the Berlin design team that also shaped the Setu and Cosm. Introduced in 2003, the Mirra was built around a simple idea: the chair should respond to the person rather than asking the person to fiddle with it. That responsiveness, along with a genuinely durable build, is why Mirra chairs are still a common sight in conference rooms, design studios, agencies and corporate boardrooms two decades later.
This pre-owned Mirra 1 is configured as a conference chair in graphite. The perforated TriFlex polymer back flexes in three zones as you shift position, the AireWeave suspension seat keeps air moving, and the arms are fixed height to keep the chair looking clean and uniform around a table. It rides on a rolling five star base with casters, so people can pull in, turn toward a screen and push back without lifting the chair.
The Mirra’s Harmonic tilt uses a butterfly shaped spring rather than a heavy mechanism, so recline feels smooth and evenly weighted through the whole range, and the FlexFront seat edge keeps pressure off the legs during long meetings. Pneumatic seat height adjustment covers a wide range of body sizes. This is the conference build, so the lumbar and the arms are set rather than adjustable, which is the sensible trade for a chair used for an hour at a time and keeps every seat around the table looking identical.
