Herman Miller Caper Used Mobile Stool, White and Gray
The Herman Miller Caper is one of the most widely specified multipurpose chairs ever made, and the stool version takes that same flexible shell up to counter height. Jeff Weber designed Caper around a simple idea: a chair light enough to move with one hand that still flexes and supports like a real work chair. The stool is a fixture in labs, training rooms, standing height benches, reception counters, libraries and maker spaces, anywhere people work at a raised surface and need to move around.
This pre-owned Caper stool pairs a white perforated polypropylene back with a gray mesh suspension seat, a platinum cylinder and a platinum five star base on casters. The back panel is molded in a single piece with a top handle cut into it so the stool can be picked up and repositioned in one motion. A platinum foot ring wraps the column at the right height to rest your feet, and gray arms are fixed to the seat frame.
The gray mesh suspension seat is the part people notice. A woven textile is stretched taut over the seat frame, so it flexes under you, spreads pressure across the whole seat and keeps air moving while you work. The perforated back has purposeful flex built into the polymer, so it gives when you lean into it and returns when you sit forward. Pneumatic height adjustment covers a wide counter height range and a tilt tension control lets you set how much resistance the back offers.
