Haworth Improv HE Series Used Task Chair, Satin Black PU Leather
The Haworth Improv HE leather task chair takes the ergonomic frame that anchored Haworth’s Improv family for years and pairs it with a fresh leather seating surface. The Improv HE built its following in corporate headquarters, law offices, universities, and government buildings by being adjustable almost everywhere a person touches it. Haworth designed the line so one chair model could be fitted to an entire floor of different people rather than stocking three sizes, and the mechanisms were built heavy enough that plenty of these chairs are still working today.
This particular chair has been reupholstered by our shop in brand new satin black PU leather across both the seat and the back pad. That is what the RAY in the SKU means: the frame and mechanism are original Haworth, and the upholstery is new, so you are not buying someone else’s worn fabric. The new satin black surface has a low sheen rather than a glossy finish, and it wipes clean with a damp cloth, which makes it a practical choice for shared desks, shift work, and any room where seating gets used by more than one person. Underneath it sits on the original black frame, black looped arm supports, and a black five star base.
Functionally this is the full Improv H.E. control set. The back pad rides on twin uprights so it floats and follows your movement, back height adjusts so the support lands on your lumbar rather than your mid back, and seat depth slides to set the right clearance behind the knees. Tilt tension, a tilt lock, pneumatic seat height, and height adjustable arms with pointed arm caps round it out. Set it once and the chair stays where you put it.

Each chair is inspected by our quality control team, then cleaned and refurbished as needed before it ships.
