Global has been building commercial seating in North America for decades, and its executive leather line is the kind of chair that ends up at the head of a boardroom table. The design leans traditional, with a tall pillowed back, a waterfall seat and sculpted loop arms, but the mechanics underneath are straight out of a modern task chair. It is a common specification for executive offices, boardrooms, law and accounting firms and conference rooms that need seating to look substantial without being fussy.
This pre-owned chair is upholstered in black leather across the seat, back and headrest section, with stitched panel detailing that gives the back its pillowed look. The arms are fixed closed loops finished in polished aluminum with padded leather tops, and they tie into a polished aluminum five star base on casters. A pneumatic cylinder handles seat height and a tilt mechanism with a lockout sits under the seat.
The tall back is the point of a chair like this. It carries support past the shoulder blades and into the upper back, which matters when a meeting runs long. The knee tilt reclines from a point forward of the seat front so your feet stay planted as you lean back, and the tension can be set to your weight so the chair pushes back at a rate that feels natural. Locking the recline out turns it into a firm upright chair for writing and laptop work.
