Description
Global Used File File Laminate Pedestal, Asian Night
Global has been building office furniture out of Toronto since 1966 and is one of the larger contract manufacturers in North America, with a casegoods program that covers everything from a single pedestal to a full executive suite. This is the file file configuration: two equal depth drawers, both set up for hanging folders, which is the pedestal to specify when someone actually files for a living. Records, accounting, human resources, legal and project management roles all carry a working file set of real size, and two full drawers in a footprint this small is the efficient answer.
This pre-owned pedestal is finished in Asian Night, Global’s dark charcoal wood grain laminate, across the case, the top and both drawer faces. It is a deep, cool toned finish with a visible straight grain that reads almost black in a room and pairs naturally with gray, white and black casegoods. Brushed silver bar pulls run across both drawer faces and a lock cylinder sits in the lower drawer. The unit measures 19 inches deep by 16.25 inches wide by 28 inches high and rolls on casters.
Inside, the drawer boxes are built in light natural wood with steel hanging rails and full extension ball bearing slides, so a loaded drawer pulls all the way out and the folders at the back are as reachable as the ones at the front. Both drawers run letter size folders front to back. At 28 inches the top sits just under a standard 29 inch work surface, so the pedestal rolls under a desk or stands beside it as a small landing surface, and because it is mobile it moves during a reconfiguration with the files still in it.
