Global Cresent Used Guest Chair, Blue
The Cresent guest chair comes from Global Furniture Group, the Toronto manufacturer that has been building commercial office furniture since 1966 and is one of the largest furniture makers in North America. Cresent is Global’s take on the fully upholstered guest chair: a single curved shell that wraps from the back around into low integrated arms, so the whole chair reads as one continuous soft form on a slim metal base. Chairs like this go into private offices, reception areas, executive waiting rooms, interview rooms and lounge groupings.
This pre-owned Cresent is upholstered in a navy blue woven fabric across the shell, arms and seat. The weave has a fine two tone texture in it that gives the navy some depth in daylight. The seat is a separate padded cushion set into the shell, and the outer back is upholstered as cleanly as the inside, so the chair presents well from every angle, including when it floats in the middle of a room. It sits on four tapered metal post legs.
The Cresent shape does real work for a guest chair. The back is scooped to bring the sitter into the chair, the arms are low and wide enough to rest a forearm on without narrowing the seat, and the open leg base keeps the whole piece visually light in a small office. The upholstery runs seamlessly over the arm caps, so there are no hard edges under the elbow.
