The Global Calidon collection is transitional lounge seating built for the parts of an office where people wait, meet informally or sit down for a quiet conversation. The look is deliberately residential, with a low track arm, a tight upholstered back and exposed wood legs, and it holds up in commercial settings because the frame and foam underneath are specified for contract use. Calidon shows up in reception areas, executive office guest seating, medical and dental waiting rooms, and lounge corners in open plan offices.
This pre-owned Calidon is upholstered in a blue textured fabric across the seat, back, arms and outside panels. The weave has a fine tonal grid to it that reads as a solid from across a room and shows depth up close, and it keeps its look through everyday use. The chair sits on four tapered wood legs finished in silver, splayed slightly at the rear, and the seat cushion is a separate insert set into the frame.
At just over two feet deep and a little wider than a standard side chair, Calidon gives a full sized adult room to sit back without turning into a piece of oversized furniture. The seat height lands in normal chair range, so getting in and out is easy, which is exactly what you want in a waiting room or a guest chair that older visitors will use. The track arms are set at a comfortable resting height and are upholstered all the way around.
