Bayley by goSIT Executive PU Leather Conference Chair, Black
The Bayley conference chair by goSIT is a full size executive chair, the traditional high back type built around deep cushioning and a generous seat rather than a lightweight ergonomic frame. goSIT builds the seat and back over high density molded foam with a rigid plastic board carried inside, which is what gives the chair its firm shape under a soft surface and keeps the cushions from collapsing into the frame. Chairs in this class go into boardrooms, executive offices, conference rooms, private practice offices, home offices and any room where the seating is part of the impression the room makes.
This new Bayley is upholstered in black EPU leather across the seat, back, headrest and arm pads. The back is divided into three padded sections, a wide lumbar cushion, a taller mid back panel and a separate crowned headrest at the top, each defined by a horizontal seam so the back reads as a stack of cushions rather than one flat plane. The seat is a thick single cushion with a rolled front edge. The arms are molded nylon loops that sweep forward from the back frame and carry molded foam arm pads on top, upholstered to match. The chair sits on a five star nylon base with 60 millimeter polyurethane casters.
The mechanism is deliberately simple, and in a conference chair that is the point. Pneumatic height adjustment moves the seat through a range from roughly 17.75 to 21 inches, and the tilt locks so the chair can be set upright for the length of a meeting or released to recline. There is no adjustment stack to explain to a visitor, which matters in a room where the person sitting down has never used the chair before. The high back and headrest support the full spine and neck, the polyurethane casters roll on both hard floor and carpet, and the EPU surface wipes clean, which keeps a boardroom looking presentable between deep cleans.
